Woodcote Green Residents Association
Southeast Tree Care: 268 Woodcote Road - September 2023
There is industrial scale development on land adjoining Southeast Tree Care on Woodcote Road between Lordsbury Field and Farm Lane. The recently expanded scale and nature of the activity do not appear compatible with the agricultural or horticultural land uses permitted on Green Belt. Moreover, the associated noise, dust and heavy goods vehicle traffic are significantly and adversely impacting the site’s neighbours.
The WGRA Committee is taking an active interest in the matter in support of those impacted and the protection of our Green Belt, and have engaged local Councillors.
We recommend that anyone concerned about this issue considers submitting a ‘Breach of Planning’ report via the Sutton Borough website here.

BURGLARIES
.This matter is of concern to residents in our area and our local Safer Neighbourhood Teams (the community police groups). What can we do about it?If we see something suspicious we can ring the police via 999 (for real emergencies) and 101 (if it’s not an emergency)We should take standard advice on protecting our homes from burglars - locking doors and windows, leaving some lights on when we’re out, keeping an eye on the homes on neighbours when they are away, keeping laptops away from front windows, and so forthBurglary can occur at any time. Local experience suggests 2pm to 3pm is popular.Foo more information and advice, have a look at the Metropolitan Police website; if you put in your postcode as requested, you get the reports from your own Safer Neighbourhood Team, either Beddington South or Wallington South, depending on your exact address.
ROAD WATCH
Community Roadwatch is a programme of roadside events, at which local volunteers join members of the police Safer Transport team to measure the speed of vehicles. Volunteers receive brief training and use the speed meter alongside the police team members. The meter calculates the speed of oncoming vehicles. Each session is for one hour; the time is fascinating and worthwhile. If you live locally, please contact WGRA initially for more information.
